This lot features 3 pieces of the old Minneapolis Lakers basketball floor from the Minneapolis Auditorium, each of which has been signed by George Mikan back on George Mikan Day in 2001 when Minnesota honored Mr. Mikan and created a life sized bronze sculpture to display in the Target Center lobby. Many former Minneapolis and Los Angeles Lakers players were in attendance to honor Mr. Mikan. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from a member of the Twins Cities Committee formed to honor George Mikan as these signatures were obtained by him in person.
