Edgar Martinez wore this blue/silver Seattle Mariners cap while taking batting practice during his 1999 season with the team. This particular style cap was worn during batting practice but during actual games. This blue/silver cap has the Mariners compass logo embroidered on the front. MLB Diamond Collection and New Era tags are sewn in the headband, which also features a size 7 3/8 flag. Martinez’s number “11” is written on the underside of the brim in blue marker. This cap shows moderate to heavy wear. Martínez was a seven-time MLB All-Star, five-time Silver Slugger, and two-time batting champion. He is one of 18 MLB players to record a batting average of .300, an on-base percentage of .400, and a slugging percentage of .500 in 5,000 or more plate appearances. The Mariners retired his uniform number and inducted him into the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame. Martínez was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019. A Letter of Authenticity from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema authenticates its use.
