Two-time NBA Champion (1999 and ’03) and former league MVP (1995) David Robinson played his entire 14-year NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs. A dominating center who stood 7’ 1” tall, Robinson – a Navy graduate who was nicknamed “The Admiral” – was also a 10-time NBA All-Star selection. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
Presented here is an important artifact from the legendary center’s career, his 1991-92 San Antonio Spurs game worn road jersey and attributed shorts. It was a season in which Robinson, playing in 68 regular season games, averaged 23.2 points, 12.2 rebounds and a league-leading 4.5 blocks per outing. The offered black, 100% nylon mesh jersey includes proper Champion [size 46] tagging on the front tail adjacent to another Champion tag indicating “YEAR 1991” and BODY LENGTH +4.” The gamer reads "SPURS" across the front in white, black and silver tackle twill, with his iconic number “50” below and on the back in white on silver tackle twill. His last name "ROBINSON" is sewn across the shoulders on the back in white tackle twill and the iconic NBA embroidered logo patch appears on the left shoulder in red, white and blue. The jersey is sporting silver, white and black knit elastic trim on the yokes and collar as well as silver and white elastic rib panels on each side. All elements show moderate game use and remain in superb, all-original condition. Some noticeable fraying is evident on the letters on the front spelling out the team name.
In addition to the jersey is a pair of 1991-92 Spurs Road shorts that are attributed to Robinson. The black, silver and white nylon shorts [size 34] include proper Champion manufacturer’s tag on the inside rear waistband and separate “100% NYLON’ and “PRO INSEAM 1 INCH PRO RISE 1 INCH” tags on the rear inseam. The black, silver and white “Spur” logo appears in tackle twill on the left side panel and the NBA embroidered logo patch appears on the right thigh area in red, white and blue. The original draw string remains intact.
