This lot features a Cal Ripken Jr. 1999 Baltimore Orioles batting helmet exhibiting quality overall use. The right-handed black Orioles batting helmet has the team logo decal on the front. The exterior shell shows several abrasions and scuffs from use and the backside has Ripken’s number “8” applied in an orange on white sticker above the logos for American Baseball Cap Company. The interior has the padded headband and crown, and the latter is partially worn away. A 7 3/8 American Baseball Cap Co. label is affixed to the interior along with a Warning sticker. The year dial stamped into the interior shell sets the manufacturing date to August, 1998.
