This lot features a Brian Harper Milwaukee Brewers 1994 Game Used and Autographed Catcher's Mitt. Brian Harper was an ample backstop who helped steer the Minnesota Twins to a World Series title in 1991. It was Harper who was putting down all the right fingers in Game 7 of the epic Fall Classic finale. This Rawlings model Pro-LTC glove served Harper for some time given the amazing use. Several points of reference need to be made regarding this coveted catcher's mitt. A Wilson wrist protector is built into the Rawlings Gold Glove series mitt and was subsequently blackened out on both sides. A Rawlings/Wilson combo glove would make both manufacturers uncomfortable. Secondly, the use on this glove is exemplary. Athletic tape is administered on the webbing and more tape is visible for the index finger. The pocket showcases heavy wear as well. "HARPER" is written on the thumb in black marker and "12" on the back. "Lite Toe" is also visible on the inside. Baseball players are more superstitious than other athletes. Catchers rarely sway from a comfortable fit. This was used by Harper for some time and eventually gifted to a former Brewers BP catcher. MEARS LOA.
