This lot features a Bobby Bonds game used bat. This Hillerich & Bradsby model J93, circa 1977-1979, exhibits evidence of excellent use with several ball marks, bat rack streaks pine tar and Bonds’ player number (25) is written on the knob in black marker. Bobby Bonds was a former professional baseball player who spent 14 seasons in the Major Leagues, primarily as an outfielder. He played for several teams over the course of his career, including the San Francisco Giants, where he spent seven seasons. Bonds was known for his power hitting and speed on the basepaths, becoming the first player in MLB history to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in the same season in 1973. He finished his career with 332 home runs, 461 stolen bases, and a .268 batting average. Bonds was also known for his defensive skills, winning three Gold Glove awards during his career. He was a three-time All-Star and remains one of the most beloved players in Giants history. Bonds passed away in 2003 at the age of 57, but his legacy as one of the most dynamic and talented players of his era lives on.
