This lot features an official American League baseball signed and inscribed by Babe Ruth who has dated the ball May 10th, 1930. The Babe inscribed the ball "To Billy McLaughton". Ruth completely dominated his sport and era more than any other athlete in history of professional sports. The Babe was a pitcher for the first 5 years of his career and actually won the the first of his 12 American League Home Run Title with 11 HR's in 1918 while hitting part time on game that he pitched! Ruth began playing and hitting everyday in 1920 and his HR total rocketed to 54 when other "Home Run Hitters" from the era would end the year in single digits. Babe Ruth's signature remains the most sought after autograph in baseball history and this is an early career example.
