This unique lot features a Bromo Seltzer Dispenser Counter Stand with drinking glass and bottle. This Bromo Seltzer retail display is circa 1920s.
The dispenser is in very good condition. There are some slight dings on the deep blue glass base, and typical oxidation to metal piece. Overall, it's in pretty incredible condition for being 90+ years old.
The base is embossed stamped on the underside " THE EMERSON DRUG CO. of Baltimore City Maryland ".
Dispenser measures 16 inches high; glass base is 5.75 by 4.5 inches. Bottle itself is 7.5 inches tall and 2.65 diameter. Drinking glass shows Bromo Seltzer measures 5 inches tall, tapering from 2.5 to 2.75 diameter.
The Emerson Drug Co., founded by Isaac Emerson in the 1880's, was the original inventor and producer of Bromo-seltzer, an antacid used to relieve pain associated with heartburn, upset stomach or indigestion.
