Absolutely stunning piece of original artwork created by supremely talented artist Intoy Ginez. This original features a young Ted Williams when he first came to Boston to play for the Red Sox. The detail on this piece is astonishing. Intoy Ginez was born in the Philippines. A self-taught artist, his work has tended to avoid much of the formality of fine art, and a personal, creative expression has laid the foundation of Intoy’s free-spirited journey. Intoy’s works are predominantly in charcoal and oil. As a child, Intoy displayed artistic sophistication by giving up crayons for pencils. His recognition of fine detail is also a signature of his work. Intoy’s fascination with athletes’ facial expressions of concentration-and a love of sports-inspired him to begin painting sports art. Just by word of mouth, many athletes and sports art collectors have commissioned and purchased his works. In 2001, the Baltimore Orioles commissioned Intoy to paint a Cal Ripken Sr. portrait, and presented it to Cal Ripken Jr. in his nationally televised farewell ceremony. Intoy uses photographs as sources, but adds a living energy that cannot be found in an original photograph. His work is classified as hyper-realism. As an accomplished practitioner of his art, a good painter will always remain a good painter. Tremendous opportunity to own a truly stunning Ted Williams original.
