Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The game featured many of the game's top stars, including Ozzie Smith, Tony Gwynn, and George Brett for the American League, and Dwight Gooden, Keith Hernandez, and Gary Carter for the National League. The game was a back-and-forth affair, with the National League taking an early lead before the American League scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead for good. The game featured several notable moments, including a home run by Tom Herr of the St. Louis Cardinals and a spectacular defensive play by Ozzie Smith. In the end, the American League prevailed by a score of 6-1, earning bragging rights for the next year and giving fans plenty to cheer about.
